Friends of 22nd (SAS)

What do we do?

Scout Active Support/ friends of 22nd allows people to give their time to Scouting on a flexible basis. People can still be involved in Scouting without the full-time commitment of being a leader.

Scout Active Support is for anyone over the age of 18 years. It is a way for adults to volunteer time to Scouting in a flexible way that suits them. It is also a great way to be apart of a social group with monthy meets with activities for members to join in on.

There is no requirement to have been involved in Scouting before joining. All that is required is a willingness to volunteer some time to support Scouting.

As with all volunteers we have to do some training to protect us and our young people.

GDPR training

First aid

DBS checks

Safety

It is the policy of The Scout Association to provide Scouting in a safe manner without risk to health.

Safeguarding

Oxfordshire Scouts run regular safeguarding workshops to ensure our volunteers are aware of The Scout Association’s Child Protection Policy “Young People First” and their role in implementing it.
